Une plongée dans l'inconnu avec avec des éléments déjà existants : c'est le paradoxe soulevé par Austin Wintory quand il évoque la bande-originale de The Banner Saga 2 d'autant plus que c'est la première fois qu'il compose pour une suite — et seul ce jeu vidéo a eu le droit à ce traitement de faveur. Pas de quoi avoir peur : elle est autant réussie que la première sinon plus. La pression est constante ("Under the Black Banner", "Threads Unweave"...) et les chants guerriers sont ensorcelants. Les comédies romantiques n'ont jamais été ma tasse de thé aussi n'ai-je jamais entendu parler avant aujourd'hui de Strangely In Love ; le fait qu'Austin Wintory, créateur de la bande-originale, parle d'une "romantic Chaplin-era vibe" ne m'attirait pas non plus. C'est vrai que l'harmonica, l'accordéon et les violons construisent un cadre suranné — celui d'un Paris romantique et idéalisé — mais ça va en fait rapidement beaucoup plus loin que cette image clichée.
